Big-City Technology, Small-Town Care
Whether its a routine doctors visit or a trip to the emergency room, residents of Washington County enjoy two of the finest hospitals in the region along with a host of other healthcare facilities dedicated to rehabilitation, continuing care and preventative medicine.
Centrally located in Marietta, Marietta Memorial Hospital, a 199-bed non-profit facility and Selby General Hospital, an osteopathic teaching facility, both boast a number of accreditations and certifications highlighting the quality of their staff and services.
Marietta Memorial is the foundation for the Marietta Memorial Health Foundation which includes a full-scale retirement facility, rehabilitation and extended care facility, home nursing services, physical therapy, satellite specialist and diagnostic center and business occupational health services. Housing 81 beds, Selby General is an approved teaching hospital for Osteopathic Physician Interns and Family Practice Residents. Affiliated with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and the Mountain State Osteopathic Post Doctoral Institution, Selby provides valuable educational opportunities locally for Marietta-based Washington State Community College's RN and LPN school students, as well as laboratory, dietary, and pharmacy students
